Please join us on Sunday August 20, 2017 for the inaugural Sertoma 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk at Hyde Park in Niagara Falls, New York. The event will coincide with their annual Summer Picnic and will feature a nice flat course (design under review) that will start and finish near the Hyde Park Ice Arena.

The Sertoma Club's mission is to improve the quality of life today for those at risk or impacted by hearing loss through education and support. Today over 50 million people in the United States alone suffer from some kind of hearing loss. With our technological life style, that number continues to grow. Once hearing loss occurs, it cannot be restored. We can imitate it with hearing devices, but it will never be as clear or concise as it once was.

After hearing is lost it becomes one of the most expensive parts of life to maintain. Some insurance companies will pay for testing or will give discounts on equipment, but many will not pay a dime. Our passion is to create a world where everyone who chooses, can hear us. And our passion will compel us to raise awareness of our cause, educate those willing to understand, and support those who need our support. Hearing health needs allies and advocates, educators and healers. Sertoma communities share the common belief that attention paid to hearing health adds quality to lives and communities.

REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP
Online registration will remain open right up until the start of the race. Race day registration and packet pickup will take place under the Oasis Pavilion (located just north of the ice arena) from 8:00am right up until the start of the race at 9:30am.

  • 5K Run* ......................................... $25
  • 1M Walk* ....................................... $20
*Custom race t-shirts will be guaranteed to all runners who register by August 12, 2017. Extra shirts (if available) will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis.

POST RACE CELEBRATION
Join us after the race under the pavilion for light food/snacks, beverages and the awards ceremony.

PARKING
There will be plenty of free parking at the ice arena within walking distance of the Oasis Pavilion and the start/finish line.

AGE GROUPS & AWARDS
Trophies will be presented to the 1st place overall male and female 5K finishers and custom race medals will be given to the top three male and female 5K runners in each of the following age groups: 

14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older.

TIMING & FINISH LINE SERVICES
The 5K Run will feature a gun start and chip finish. Timing and finish line services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions. Results will be updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:
